Course: Bachelor of Radiography in Diagnostic (BRad)
Description:

Bachelor of Radiography in Diagnostic prepares students for the professional field of diagnostic radiography which entails the production of x-ray images of the human body in order to diagnose disease. The theoretical and practical components of the course are covered concurrently. The practical component is undertaken at an accredited training hospital. Graduates are required by law to undertake one year of community service. This is a prerequisite for registration with the HPCSA as a radiographer, bachelor in the NSC qualification is required.

Requirements: • Minimum NSC requirements for degree entry must be met. • English, Afrikaans or isiXhosa (home language or first additional language) on at least a level 3 (40–49%). • Mathematics 4 (50-59%) • Physical Sciences 4 (50-59%) • Life Sciences 4 (50-59%) • Applicants must also be physically fit. • Applicants referred for selection must submit a satisfactory medical report, on the prescribed form, to the Admission Office. • Admission is subject to departmental selection.
