Description:

Advanced Diploma in Analytical Chemistry will equip students to obtain training in the more advanced and specialised field of analytical chemistry, that is related to instrumentation and laboratory organisation. Training will focus on developing skills on certain key instruments that are commonly used in the chemistry related industry. Skills training will relate to equipping the potential analyst with the ability to plan, organise and execute complex analyses on specialised laboratory equipment, followed by the ability to deal with resultant data and the conversion and interpretation of the data to applied knowledge. Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Bachelor of Science degree with chemistry as major or an equivalent qualification with chemistry or analytical chemistry as a major is required.

 

Requirements: Dip (Analytical Chemistry) or BSc degree with chemistry as major or an equivalent qualification with chemistry or analytical chemistry as a major. Applicants should have passed his/her final undergraduate academic chemistry modules with at least 60% average on their first attempt
Job Opportunities: The skills the student will acquire during the qualification will enable them to become more employable in modern analytical laboratories within production and process chemical industries such as the petrochemical, mining, pharmaceutical, rubber/polymers, cement, catalysis, and government departments. Graduates can further develop their skills by becoming specialists of certain techniques that can then work within the large industrial sector of analytical instrument suppliers or agencies.
