Dis-Chem Pharmacies invites young, passionate South Africans to apply for the Retail Cosmetics Learnership (NQF 3) 2025.

Programme Overview

The Retail Cosmetics Learnership aims to equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in promoting and selling Dis-Chem’s beauty and cosmetic products. The programme places strong emphasis on customer service excellence, product knowledge, and in-store merchandising.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Willingness to work retail hours
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Advantageous:

  • Previous experience in a beauty or cosmetics retail environment

Key Responsibilities

Stock Control:

  • Monitor and rotate stock to avoid expired items
  • Restock shelves and report low or damaged stock
  • Participate in stock takes and maintain storeroom organisation

Merchandising:

  • Keep displays clean, attractive, and well-stocked
  • Price and label all products correctly
  • Meet sales targets and demonstrate products effectively

Customer Service:

  • Provide helpful and friendly assistance to all customers
  • Process sales at Cosmetics Department POS
  • Handle customer product queries professionally

Competencies Required

  • Good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic financial knowledge and customer needs awareness
  • Ability to self-manage, build trust, and stay honest
  • Sales-driven mindset and presentation skills

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • Able to work flexible and retail hours

Remuneration

  • A monthly stipend will be provided during the learnership period.
