Purpose of the Role
The Logistics Management Trainee role is designed as a permanent developmental programme to expose candidates to all aspects of logistics operations across the business. The trainee will:
- Gain hands-on experience in supply chain operations
- Support logistics teams across multiple sites
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Travel regularly to engage with distribution centres, retail stores, and customers
Key Responsibilities
- Process Mapping & Standardisation: Document logistics processes across all DCs.
- Reporting: Maintain and share weekly/monthly logistics performance reports.
- Auditing: Conduct compliance audits in receiving, dispatch, inventory, and cold chain operations.
- On-Site Engagement: Travel between DCs, B2B, and retail sites to support operations.
- Training: Assist with logistics training planning and delivery.
- Safety & Compliance: Participate in food safety, OHS, and cold chain compliance initiatives.
- Customer Service: Support excellent service delivery and customer experience.
- Cost Containment: Identify opportunities to reduce waste and optimise efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work with sales, procurement, and retail teams to align logistics operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in:
- Logistics
- Supply Chain Management
- Industrial Engineering
- Or related field
- 2–3 years’ experience in Logistics & Supply Chain (advantageous in frozen/chilled products)
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel between sites on short notice
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
- A keen interest in logistics and building a career in supply chain operations
