The  Government Printing Works (GPW) invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for 45 Graduate  Internship Programme opportunities for the 2027 / 2029 financial year.

Internship Application Closing Date: 19 October 2026 at 16:00 for hand-delivered applications and 23:59 for online applications

Internship Location: Pretoria, Gauteng and East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa

Internship Stipend: R8 174.75 per month

About the Government Printing Works Graduate Internship Programme

The Government Printing Works is offering a 24-month Graduate Internship Programme aimed at providing unemployed graduates with practical workplace experience and exposure relevant to their qualifications.

Applicants must be unemployed South African citizens and must not have previously participated in an  internship programme. Failure to disclose previous participation may result in termination of the internship contract.

All internships offer a stipend of R8 174.75 per month. Most positions are based in Pretoria, while the Sales – Regional Warehouse opportunities are based in East London.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful  interns will receive structured workplace training and experience related to their area of study.

Interns will be expected to:

  • Participate in workplace activities.
  • Assist with departmental projects.
  • Participate in capacity-building initiatives.
  • Gain practical experience relevant to their qualifications.
  • Work under the supervision of experienced professionals.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens.
  • Be unemployed.
  • Have the relevant qualification required for the internship applied for.
  • Not have previously participated in an internship programme.
  • Submit a separate application for each internship position they wish to apply for.
  • Use the correct internship title and reference number.

Applicants with foreign qualifications are responsible for obtaining an evaluation from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Documents Required

Applicants are required to submit:

  • A completed and signed new Z83 Application Form.
  • A copy of their CV.

Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and other supporting documents before or on the day of the interview.

For email applications, applicants should attach only the CV and completed Z83 form. The email attachment size must not exceed 2MB.

Pictures, snapshots, ZIP files, IMG files and JPEG documents will not be accepted.

Important Information

Applicants must submit a separate Z83 application for every positionthey apply for.

Applications submitted on the old Z83 form will not be considered.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will undergo personnel suitability checks as part of the recruitment process.
