Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in the Senior Phase (SP) and Further Education and Training (SP-FET) combination is to “cap” an undergraduate degree or an approved advanced diploma. The PGCE FET-SP has as its aim to develop graduates and diplomats as competent, professional teachers, committed to the enhancement of education in diverse high schools in South Africa and beyond. In addition, the programme aims to provide student teachers with the required knowledge, skills and values to mediate teaching and learning in one school related subjects in the field of Further Education and Training and one school related subjects in the field of the Senior Phase.
