The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) wishes to invite applications from suitable candidates who qualify for the internship positions. This 12-month internship opportunity is ideal for young South African citizens who have the required qualifications and who want to gain workplace experience at SAQA. This is an ETDP SETA funded internship for unemployed graduates who have not participated in an internship previously. The successful candidate will receive an Internship Stipend, as determined by the ETDP SETA. Candidates whose appointment will promote representivity in terms of race, disability and gender will receive preference. Proposed start date is as from 01 April 2022.

SYSTEMS DEVELOPER To gain training and workplace experience in the planning, development, and maintenance of systems.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree Information Technology or any other relevant qualifications (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

DESKTOP SUPPORT To gain training and workplace experience in the administrative and technical support to implement, monitor and upgrade information technology systems (hardware& software). To administer multi-platform IT environment and handle requests from users.

DB Administration To gain training and workplace experience in the planning, creating, and implementation of database systems.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree Information Technology or any other relevant qualifications (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

DATA ANALYSIS To gain training and workplace experience in data analytic and quantitative research services to internal and external stakeholders, thus ensuring the utilisation of information available from various databases and Management Information Systems (MIS) at SAQA.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Information Management/Statistics or any other relevant qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

Data Loading To gain training and workplace experience in assisting with ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and currency of the data in Management Information Systems (MIS) in SAQA.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Information Management/Statistics or any other relevant qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

VerificationsTo gain training and workplace experience in Verification of qualifications, with a focus on data and information management.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Information Management/Education/Administration or any other relevant qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

EVALUATION OF FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS (VERIFICATION) X4 To gain training and workplace experience in the verification of foreign qualification awards, relationship building, and follow-up and closure of cases.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Information Management or any relevant qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

CLIENT SERVICES X3 To gain training and workplace experience in providing an effective and efficient telephone and e-mail response and information service to applicants seeking to evaluate their foreign qualifications and verify national qualifications.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Communication, Marketing/Public Relations, or any other relevant qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

REGISTRATION AND RECOGNITION (EVALUATION) X2 To gain training and workplace experience in evaluating qualifications recommended for registration, evaluating applications for professional body recognition and registration of professional body designations.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Education/Administration or any other relevant qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

REGISTRATION AND RECOGNITION (ADMINISTRATION) To gain training and workplace experience in providing administrative and logistical support to the Registration and Recognition unit.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Education/Administration or any other relevant qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION To gain training and workplace experience in Accounts Payable and Supply Chain Management administration.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Accounting or any other relevant finance qualification (NQF Level 5, 6 or 7)

RESEARCHTo gain training and workplace experience in the research and development work that informs National Qualifications Framework (NQF) policy development and implementation and assessing the impact of the NQF on the system for education, training, development, and work in South Africa.
